Description: The 11th Annual Walk For Wishes® DFW is a 5k and 1 mile Fun Walk where participants, wish kids and volunteers take big strides to make more wishes come true! Every dollar raised from this fun-filled event will go to fulfilling the wishes of our North Texas children. In an effort to support our wish kids fighting their life-threatening medical conditions, this year we are challenging you to be a hero to our local kids, and to come out dressed as your favorite hero! So find your best hero outfit, put together a team and be part of an event that brings hope, strength and joy to the lives of North Texas children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition.

Description: Granbury, Texas will kick off summer this Memorial Day Weekend in style, 50s style that is! The Historic Granbury Merchants Association presents Cruisin’ Granbury, a festival dedicated to the era of cool cars and rock and roll. Visitors will enjoy dancing, lots of vendors, hot rods, and yes, even a top notch Elvis tribute artist on Sunday evening from 5-6:30 pm!

Description: The sounds from the Dallas Wind Symphony will be filling the Historical Park at this year’s Memorial Day event. The Park will open its gates at 6:30 p.m. with activities for the young and the young at heart including historical structure tours, bounce houses and concessions as well as the all-time favorite low level fireworks show that helps cap off the event. Parking will be available at Metro Square Business Park located at 12300 Ford Road. Shuttles will pick up and drop off at the Farmers Branch Historical Park Entrance.

Description: The Town of Flower Mound invites the community to join together to remember fallen soldiers of war. The ceremony will feature keynote speakers from the military and local leaders, Color Guard, patriotic music, bagpipers, and a wreath presentation. The Town is also asking residents to submit a picture and bio of a fallen hero which will be added to a special Wall of Honor, and recognized during the event.

Description: Celebrate family this Memorial Day Weekend with four days of family fun at the Dallas Arboretum. This long weekend captures the excitement of the start of summer, memories of picnics and barbecue, and the gratitude toward those who serve our country. We invite you to carry on your Memorial Day traditions (or start a new one)! Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy $2 hot dogs and root beer floats, watch your children’s faces light up as they explore the petting zoo, and spend the afternoons listening to live music overlooking the scenic White Rock Lake. This weekend of patriotic celebration will conclude with two Eddie Coker Concerts on Monday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. sponsored by DallasChild, free to members and paid garden admission. Free admission is given all four days to all active duty members and veterans of the United States military and first responders with valid photo ID.

Description: This Memorial Day weekend, the Perot Museum will feature two new 3D films – National Parks Adventure 3D and Flying Monsters 3D – plus the stunning exhibition, Eye of the Collector, daily science demos and activities, and more. From May 27-30, daily “science on the spot” demos, bookworm readings, science trivia and other drop-in activities will take place at select times throughout the Museum, plus kids 5 and under can enjoy art activities in the Moody Family Children’s Museum until 3 p.m.
