Qualifying residents of Collin County can now participate in a taxi subsidized service offered by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Allen, Fairview and Wylie.
Named Collin County Rides – the service is available to anyone 65 years of age or older and/or people living with a disability.
Residents who have participated in DART’s temporary Collin County service, established when Texoma Area Paratransit System pulled out of the county, will be grandfathered into Collin County Rides where all registered participants will now receive a taxi debit card for their use.
DART’s debit card holds a maximum of $200. Participants can store $5 to $50 on the card, and they will receive a taxi subsidy based on how much they contribute towards their own transportation.
Registration at DART.org/ccr is required to participate in Collin County Rides. Residents can call 214.828.6717 for more information and to determine eligibility.
