The Allen ISD Board of Trustees approved a 3% salary increase for Allen ISD employees for the 2016-2017 school year. The increase would apply to all eligible employees and would be based on 3% of the midpoint for each pay group. The increase was part of a salary proposal that also included raising the starting teacher salary to $50,000.
With this approval, the school district will prepare a salary and benefit proposal for the the Board to consider at their May 16 meeting. Board approval of a budget in June is the final step in the process. The Board is also considering reducing the school tax rate for the third consecutive year but no decision will be made until more detailed tax revenue information is released by the county.
