Property tax assessments are in the mail for most residents of North Texas area and not all of them are pleased. Collin County seems to have been especially hard due to continued demand, overall lower inventory and its suburban appeal.
For some, the property appraised values have gone up by about $50,000.
Frisco, Allen, Mckinney, Plano – even northern areas such as Prosper are seeing unheard of property values.
Tax rolls in some regions of Collin Count also increased triple digits — more new homes and businesses in Prosper and Celina pushed westward from Collin County into Denton County last year. According to dentonrc.com.
Last year (2015) saw Collin County’s property values jump nearly 11% to almost $100B mark. The same year, Frisco’s 11% jump in taxable values was boosted by $23 million in newly annexed property and Plano reported its tax base grew 7% year over year (according to dallasnews).
