The Santillano and Gonzalez both lost their homes last Christmas. Through a series of events, several organizations, churches, companies, contractors and individuals donated funds, resources, materials and labors to give away the homes completely free to these families.
On July 17 at 6 pm Christ Fellowship in McKinney hosted the dedication of the Santillano and Gonzalez homes at 11848 County Road 670, Blue Ridge, Texas 75424.
According to Shawn Bailey, Pastor First Baptist Church Blue Ridge – their town was at the end of a long line of destruction. It destroyed homes and took the life of a 3-day old baby girl.
First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge and personal Go Fund Me accounts raised the initial $45,500 towards the homes, but $65,000 was still needed to complete the projects.
After acquiring the funds, the restoration effort coordinator Bob Hansen, looked for vendors and found support from Trinity Homes in Abilene, Texas.
The home manufacturer, Clayton Manufactured Homes in Bonham gave both families the opportunity to visit the manufacturing facility to select exterior colors, floor coverings, counter tops, cabinets, walls – all the things that it takes to make a house a home.
