The new and improved Jack Carter Pool is on schedule to open on Saturday, July 9. The pool at Jack Carter Park originally opened in 1983 and was closed for renovations in summer 2014.
New features will include a dual rider tube slide, body slide, lazy river, deep water pool with platform diving and a climbing wall, Flow Rider surf simulator, tot pool, leisure pool with some lap lanes, wet deck areas, spray features, rentable party areas and concessions.
A $7,500,000 was approved for the pool at Jack Carter Park in the 2013 Bond Program.
Update: On June 16, Plano Rotary Club presented a $25,000 check to City of Plano leaders. The donation is for a new playground at Jack Carter Park for children of all abilities.
Jack Carter Park also has a dog park that is double-gated, fenced area along Bluebonnet Trail, near its intersection with Chisholm Trail in central Plano. The separate area is for large and small dogs with shade shelters, picnic tables, benches. LED lighting, water stations for humans and dogs, waste pickup/disposal stations and a dog rinse station near the parking lot.
