Do you have a United States Flag that is torn, soiled, faded or frayed? If so, join U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson and other community leaders on Saturday, June 18th for the Honor Our Stars and Stripes: A Flag Decommissioning Ceremony.
This solemn ceremony will take start at 10:30 am at the Veterans Memorial at Frisco Commons Park, located at 8000 McKinney Rd in Frisco TX.
According to the U.S. Flag Code, when a flag is no longer in a condition that is fitting to be an emblem for display, it should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferable by burning. Adhering to the policy of the respectful treatment of our national symbol, Congressman Johnson will be hosting this ceremony with participation from several community organizations including OldWornFlag.com, Sons of the American Revolution, the City of Frisco, and many others.
Should you have any questions regarding the upcoming event, please contact Congressman Johnson’s Plano office at 469-304-0382.
