According to Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute, Collin County is the healthiest county in Texas as residents live longer and feel healthier than people from any other part of the state. They rank nearly all counties in the country.
Factors considered were:
- access to medical care
- sleep patterns
- drug overdose deaths
- housing conditions
- employment
- education levels
- rates of sexually transmitted infections
- smoking
- obesity
- teenage pregnancy
The report has been published annually for seven years, which means you can track your county’s health over time. Collin County jumped from second place to first.
