Collin county’s Constable-Elect Mike Vance has passed away following a short illness.
Constable-Elect Vance retired from the Collin County Sheriff’s Office in 2019 after serving our community for 34 years. He worked as a detention officer, patrolman, criminal investigator, narcotics investigator, and supervisor.
Vance worked on more than 10,000 criminal investigations in a career that also included 17 years on the Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. team.
On Nov. 3, Vance was elected as the Collin County Constable for Precinct 1, and he was looking forward to taking office in January.
In response to the news of Constable-Elect Vance’s passing, County Judge Chris Hill ordered flags at Collin County facilities to be lowered to half-staff.
