Texas’ child population is increasingly located in Texas’ metropolitan areas. Collin County is among the fastest-growing counties in child populations like most suburban ones that lie outside major Texas cities.
Between 1990 and 2010, Collin County Texas nearly tripled its population of kids and increased its racial and ethnic diversity.
Child population change and growth are most evident in Texas’ major cities and surrounding areas. As Texas cities continue to grow, the state’s child population is increasingly located in metropolitan areas.
